Via Ferrata, which means "iron way" in Italian, is a climbing route equipped with fixed cables, ladders, and iron rungs that allows climbers to traverse otherwise challenging rock faces with added safety.
The Via Ferrata de Tière is a must-do during your stay in Champéry. It combines hiking and rock climbing with a 140-metre altitude gain. This route starts in the forest and includes crossing the Tière River via suspension bridges. The climb involves using cables and iron rungs to ascend the rock face.
